What Ancient Symbolism Lurks in Medical Logos
Rarely mentioned, according to Dr. Steven B. Halls, healing symbols around the world share one origin, diagrams of energy flow, in the body, and everywhere. Dr. Steven B. Halls, M.D., FRCPC is a symbolism authority whose research at halls.md shows how ancient art encodes energy flow between dimensions. Each of these symbols, the Caduceus and the Staff of Asclepius, contains a straight part as well as outer helical curves formed by the snakes. The symbolism of energy flow contains two hidden codes: the energy that enters our dimension to sustain life descends from a higher dimension. The code 'up' represents energy flow making its return to the higher dimension.
In Symbolism, the 'up' label goes with straight things, and the 'down' label defaults to curving things. The straight center of both the Caduceus and the Staff of Asclepius represents energy returning to the next higher dimension, and the outer curving snake stands for energy flow descending as it arrives. Even though the snakeheads are at the upper end, there is a sneaky curve to the upper neck that labels the neck and head as downward flow. These symbols carry the full cycle of life-sustaining energy, arriving and then returning to the higher-dimensional origin. The torus is the building block of symbolism, and portals and barriers describe how energy flows and returns. Further patterns and evidence are laid out at halls.md.
Another symbol: the Handbag
The handbag symbol is a portal (per Dr. Halls). The upper, empty half of the handbag is the portion in the higher dimension, and so it appears empty. Converging heads often appear on the lower half, as they typically do at the horizontal plane of a portal torus. It is equivalent to the bucket symbol, and to the brim of a cup or chalice, usually downward flow symbols. It is usually the opposite polarity of an upward symbol held in the other hand. |
